IRDP assists countries with emerging nuclear power programs to establish regulatory agencies capable of licensing and oversight of new reactors. The program works with agencies to develop country-specific Regulatory Development Plans, Regulatory Infrastructure, and Regulatory Programs.

The NRC-sponsored program assists regulatory authorities to establish long term regulatory control over safe and secure use of radiation sources in a manner consistent with the IAEA Code of Conduct.

TerraPower, LLC has produced a conceptual design for a Standing-Wave Reactor Sodium-Cooled Fast Reactor; a concept which could revolutionize the way nuclear energy is produced worldwide. As the principal regulatory arm of the TerraPower team, AdSTM has systematically analyzed how this innovative concept can best be licensed in accordance with international regulatory requirements & guidance.
